Lyle & Scott are proud to announce two collaboration projects; one with Scottish born menswear designer Jonathan Saunders and the other with British heritage menswear brand Universal Works. Both collaborations will be released for the AW14 season.
Lyle & Scott and Jonathan Saunders
Glasgow born Saunders has been hailed as one of the most exciting British menswear designers of recent years, recently winning Breakthrough Menswear Designer at GQ’s Man of the Year Awards in September, as well as Emerging Talent Award – Menswear at the British Fashion Awards in 2012, among other industry plaudits. The Scottish connection isn’t the only reason this collaboration makes sense; Saunders’ signature use of colour, pattern and graphic has a clear relationship with the brand’s 1960s golfing heritage.
Lyle & Scott and Universal Works
Universal Works aims to mix the great British clothing heritage with a modern, more international feel – wearable; sustainable and affordable; clothes that reflect the personality of the owner; real honest menswear that defies the trends and whims of fashion.David Keyte, owner Universal Works
There is a clear sharing of ethos between Lyle & Scott and Universal Works. Both transcend fashion and aim to develop products that are resolutely none trend driven. Styling and design is dictated by, in Lyle & Scott’s case, its 140 year history and in Universal Works’ the personal history and experiences of its founder David Keyte.
